Sun Odyssey 455

The Sun Odyssey 455 completes the Sun Odyssey range, engineered to deliver the interior volume and cabin comfort of larger yachts inside a more maneuverable 45-foot hull. Designed by Marc Lombard Yacht Design Group and Piaton Yacht Design, the 455 combines space efficiency with easy handling — offering accommodation that rivals much bigger boats without sacrificing the ease of sailing shorthanded.

Her most talked-about innovation is the inboard primary winch placement: rather than crowding the quarter seats, the winches sit inboard beneath wraparound coamings via 90° cheek blocks. That frees up protected, practical standing positions at the helm while keeping deck access clear for the whole crew. A sculpted navigation seat offers chaise-style comfort on passage, and a solid grab rail runs the length of the galley for safety and stability when heeling.

SEANAPPS Technology
Like every new Jeanneau, the Sun Odyssey 455 comes SEANAPPS-equipped: live boat monitoring, real-time alerts, geofencing and anchoring assistance, maintenance recommendations, a digital maintenance log, and a navigation logbook, all from your phone.

Design

Below decks, the standard layout offers three cabins and two heads, with four- and five-cabin charter configurations available for owners running the boat commercially. The forward master cabin rivals larger models with an island berth and a generous en suite. Aft cabins are spacious and functional, and a dedicated workshop/utility compartment — in place of a third head — adds hanging storage and removable crates for gear, tools, and provisioning. On deck, the well-integrated galley and secure cockpit continue the walk-around deck philosophy that defines the current Sun Odyssey generation.

Under power, the standard 57 hp Yanmar saildrive delivers 8.7 knots flat-out and a comfortable 7.3-knot cruise. Under sail, she’s a lively performer even in light air, with the option of laminate mains and more roach for owners who want to push performance further.
